A kingdom on the move

road-259815_640Daniel 2:44: And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,

All kingdoms of men will come to an end. Each exhibit certain traits that those who build the tower of babel exhibited. Their project was a declaration of independence, self-sufficiency, and a step taken to become rivals to God.

Those who started building babel sought security in it, they want to have a lasting name for themselves, write their names on the sands of time. But with God, if he is not the center of a thing them that thing will not stand (Genesis 11:1-9).

The kingdom of men is based on man’s standard which falls short of God’s, it is built by the hand of man while the kingdom of God is built by him and is infinitely better. Jesus said: I will build my church (Matthew 16:18). The New Jerusalem is prepared by God, as a bride for her bridegroom, and the bridegroom is Jesus (Revelation 21:2). The writer of Hebrews says of those of us who believe, have come to mount Zion the city of the living God (Hebrews 12:22, Revelation 3:12). We are part of the forever kingdom, the city housing God.

Of Abraham it was written: he sought for a city whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10). He had seen earthly kingdoms, but he wanted the heavenly kingdom. He had seen heavenly splendor but he seeks the heavenly. He looked at it afar of, he did not experience it fully, but continued on in the hope of it.

In the prophetic vision of the king Nebuchadnezzar that was interpreted by Daniel concerning the four kingdoms of the earth starting with Nebuchadnezzar with worldwide influences (Daniel 2). A kingdom is about wide reaching influence. Some kingdom have economic influence (gold), some intellectual influence (brass), another military influence (iron), still others cultural influence (sand) and religious influence (silver). Even the kingdom of God is about influence, as the parable of the leaven that Jesus taught revealed. It is an unseen influence, Spiritual influence (Luke 13:21).

All other kingdoms as seen in the vision of king Nebuchadnezzar ended with the stone cut without hand scattering (breaking to pieces which were blown away by the wind into oblivion) all the other kingdoms, swallowing them up, gaining dominion. Everyone else will be destroyed but the Kingdom of the stone, stands forever.

Jesus is that stone (1Peter 2:7), cut without hands, i.e. his manifestation on the earth was not be initiated by man. It was initiated by God. Jesus proclaimed that the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He was the harbinger of the kingdom of God, calling people to repentance, to come into alignment with that kingdom in their thinking.

He instructed the Pharisee that the kingdom does not come by observation, i.e. it is not defined by physical parameters, but it is something that will find expression within individuals (Luke 17:21). That kingdom is an internal kingdom and eternal. It is one that cannot be shaken, cannot be moved. Jesus said that the kingdom he is building the gates of hell will not withstand it, it will dominate on the earth.

It will be a kingdom of servants. Jesus said that in the kingdom of the world the leaders are lord, but it shall not so among us but the leader shall be the servant of all (Mark 10:44). That is the leadership concept of the kingdom, contrary to the world’s.

If everyone serves the other that kingdom will endure but if there are hierarchies of superiors and inferiors, then there will be bickering, and the kingdom will not stand. Where there is disunity, envy, rancour, inner fighting for supremacy, which results from a lord kind of leadership, the energies that should be directed outside (to deal with opposition) is directed internal, until the kingdom implodes. It had eaten itself up, instead on eating up the enemy.

There is a kingdom being built by God, there are kingdom being built by men. Just as Jesus said in a parable that the wheat and the tears would be allowed to grow together until the time of the harvest, so the kingdom sowed by the enemy and the kingdom sowed by God will grow together in this age (Matthew 13:24-30). But eventually the words of the bible will come to pass which says: the kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our God (Revelation 11:15).

The bible says: why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing against the lord and against his anointed, Jesus (Psalm 2)? They set themselves in battle array, but God sits in heaven and laughed at them, because at the end, no matter how the earth rages the kingdoms of this world belongs to Jesus.

God has said to Jesus, ask me the nations for your inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession, and that is what will happen.

Just as the earth was at the beginning given to man in the first Adam, now the rulership dominion on the earth and in all realm has been given to us in Jesus, the last Adam (1Corinthians 15:45). Jesus is expressing that dominion through us. We are the body of Christ. We are his eyes, ears and hands, and legs.

And the bible says wherever the sole of our feet touched that is where we should dominate (Deuteronomy 11:24). We need to start “breeding” believers with dominion mindset. Jesus said: all power is given to me, therefore go into all the world; get on the kingdom assignment (Matthew 28:18-20). The kingdom is always on the go, on the move, the mandate is to Judaea Samaria and the ends of the earth, information people that they now a never before seen opportunity to be part of the kingdom. The possibility is opened to all people.

While on the earth Jesus was always on the move, so much so that Peter summarized his ministry in these word: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth and he went about doing good and healing those operated for the devil for God was with him (Acts 10:38).

He was a rolling stone, rolling the impact of the kingdom of God on the people. He told the disciple at a time when he sent to certain place where he himself will still come to: healed the sick, raise the dead cleanse the leper and declare the kingdom has near unto you (Matthew 10:7-8). The kingdom is manifested in the display of heavenly power. It is a kingdom with the divine presence.

The kingdom is not build on miracles but it flows in miracles. The energy of the kingdom is channeled into miracles but the foundation is the word of God. It is the same word that created the heaven and the earth that is creating the kingdom that is forever.
